The Consulate General of India in Houston inaugurated a curated exhibition under the Government of India’s One District One Product initiative, alongside the launch of a permanent ODOP Corner at its premises.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from April 1 to April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on all working days. The permanent display will remain accessible year-round during consulate hours.

The Consulate announced the initiative on X, inviting members of the Indian diaspora and the public to engage with the program.

“We warmly invite members of the Indian diaspora, friends of India, and well-wishers to visit, explore, and support the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative of the Government of India,” the post said.

ODOP, a flagship program of the Government of India, focuses on promoting district-specific products by enhancing branding, improving market access, and expanding global outreach. The initiative aims to empower artisans, women-led enterprises, farmer-producer groups, and micro, small, and medium enterprises.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, the Consulate partnered with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston to host a roundtable discussion on standard operating procedures for imports from India.

The session brought together experts, industry stakeholders, and participants to discuss import-export processes, documentation requirements, and the evolving tariff environment.

Representatives from Port Houston and other experts shared insights, with discussions centered on strengthening bilateral engagement through the “3Ts” — trade, technology, and tourism — while also highlighting the growing importance of a fourth dimension: tariffs.

The Consulate said the event reflects ongoing efforts to deepen engagement with stakeholders and strengthen economic ties between India and the United States.
